The exhibition draws heavily from pop cultural references through Arnell's distinctive interpretations of iconic modern day figures portrayed in his accentuated signature style. The collection consists of over 100 highly individualistic pieces intertwined with contrasting yet complimenting themes ranging from ‘celebrity’ to local and global landscapes.
Alex Arnell attempts to realise and communicate ideas and feelings inspired by his surroundings, the mass media, and the process of picture making itself. At present it is found images and objects that generate the ideas he claims excite him the most, an eclectic selection of which are included in this exhibition.
Free admission and all works are available for purchase, so you have a wonderful opportunity to own an original from one of Newport's vibrant contemporary artists.
