Barnabas Arts House Meeting

Tuesday 31 January 7:00pm

Barnabas Arts House would like to extend an open invitation to anyone interested in getting involved in forthcoming events to be held at Barnabas Arts House in 2012.

Barnabas Arts House is Newport’s only independent arts house and still very much in its infancy, but it is the public who will provide the driving force when it comes to this creative hub being propelled forward.  It is a multifaceted arts house built for the people, fuelled by the ideas and input of the people. We would love your presence, but equally your creative contributions: all ideas, thoughts and feedback would be very welcome.

We are looking to all members of the public interested in being a part of sharing this emerging creative space to come along and attend.

There are an array of ambitious proposals Barnabas Arts House want to start making happen this year and here are just a selection of ideas being currently considered:-

Art Exhibitions
Book Club
Barnabas Creative Wednesday lunchtimes
Creative Writing Workshops
Film Club
Photography Classes
Comedy Shed
Life Drawing Classes
A Table Tennis League
Barnabas Makers Shop
Art Fairs
A Welsh Language Café
Open Mic Nights
Vintage Teas
Art Studio Sales
Art Auctions
Craft Fairs
A Memory Workshop

In 2011 Barnabas Arts House held its first ever wedding and is now fully licensed to host a range of special days from weddings and civil ceremonies, to naming ceremonies.  Whether Barnabas caters for all or part of your big day, we would love to hear from you and help make it happen.

Barnabas Arts House is a venue encompassing all different types of art and strives to make art an enjoyable entity accessible to all.  In 2009 when owner, Jan Martin lovingly restored the disused Victorian church building it was designed to be a creative hub, a meeting place, a creative cornerstone set right in the heart of the city where people could eat, drink and think.  Which is why we want anybody interested in the venue,  whether it be with regards to something included in our upcoming ideas, or you come armed with your own ideas - all are welcome!
